This long established swimming club, first formed in 1903 and swimming in the river Wharfe, but now operating at the Chippendale Swimming Pool on Tuesday evenings from 6:15 to 6:45, from 6:45 to 7:15 and from 7:15 until 7:45. Originally a competitive, long distance and life-saving club we currently concentrate on teaching young swimmers (from four upwards) to swim and to improve their swimming strokes. To this end we have regular badge nights, when members can attempt distances from 10 metres to 3000 metres, or the ASA Swimming Challenge (Bronze, Silver, Gold and Honours), or the ASA Speed Badges. Its not all work though, for there is a short play time for every session, we have a fun gala every year and a lovely Christmas Party.
